Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional provides a wide range of services to individuals supported. The role of a Temporary/Seasonal Direct Support Professional is to assist Triumph, Inc. during a season of increased service hours for those we support, typically summer. Individuals supported by Triumph, Inc. are typically referred to the company from the State of North Dakota Department of Human Services DD Division and need assistance with the goals that they have set in their person-centered plan. The Direct Support Professional works in a wide range of environments, including the individual’s home, the individual’s employment, the individual’s place of volunteering, or anywhere the individual needs assistance from staff. The Direct Support Professional needs to be a dynamic person who can work in a variety of places, have flexible work hours, use community connections to advance the individual’s goals, and have the heart of a teacher.
Summary of essential job functions
Assist and support the individual to complete daily living skills and tasks.
Follow and adhere to the individual’s person-centered plan.
Assist the individual to achieve their personal goals.
Provide education and support for the individual to maintain and develop new skills.
Assist the individual to learn about new opportunities in the community.
Contact employers/volunteer sites on behalf of the individual as needed.
Assist the individual with filling out any necessary paperwork as needed.
Complete accurate documentation.
Follow and adhere to Triumph, Inc. policies and procedures.
Adhere and comply with all reporting requirements of abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and exploitation.
Submit all paperwork in a timely fashion to the Program Coordinator or Administration as directed.
Perform additional duties as requested.
Minimum requirements
A high school degree or at least 16 years of age
Reliable transportation
Adequate car insurance
Consent to Federal and State Background checks (provided by employer)
Consent to driving record check (provided by employer)
Consent to initial hiring drug test and random selection thereafter (provided by employer)
CPR, 1st Aid, TR, ANE, and module training (training will be provided by employer)
Abilities required
Be able to work a varied work schedule and fulfill employment terms above
Strong customer services skills
Be able to relate to the needs of the individual
Be able to network with a wide variety of community members
Have great organizational skills
Be flexible
Be a team player
Able to keep all individual information confidential
